Abstract

With the technical progress of mobile devices such as smartphone, there have been significant impacts of mobile ecosystem and application software on our daily life and healthcare service recently is one of the most focused business line that has the highest growth potential. The mobile applications related to healthcare service is given a great deal of weight on a global market with the very wide range of its utilization such as supplying medical information, scheduling exercise plan, managing dietary control, and so on. With these consumer needs, Korean Government and domestic IT enterprises launched various kinds of mobile applications. In case of the domestic mobile contents market, it was difficult to find well-organized classification system for the health - related mobile applications, and there had been no report related to the categorization of those applications with an appropriate methodology. In this study, we looked into the problem through the recent situation of health and medical-related mobile applications. Furthermore, the definition and classification system were suggested. As shown by current results, It might be strongly required that applications related to healthcare should be categorized into systematical ways.
